Waiver

The Great Bark Bash, Wiener Dog Race & Running of the Bulls & Corgi Crush & Mutt Strut: Waiver and Release of Liability

In consideration of being permitted to participate in the Humane Society of Central Oregon’s (“HSCO”)Wiener Dog Race and Running of the Bulls (the “Event”), I, intending to be legally bound for myself, my heirs, executors and administrators, do hereby waive, release, and forever discharge HSCO and the following Event sponsors: Veterinary Referral Center of Central Oregon, Lay It Out Events, including any director, officer, employee, volunteer, representative, agent, subsidiary, affiliate, proprietary company or corporation, partnership, limited partnership, limited liability company, or joint venture thereof, and any of their successors or assigns, from any and all liabilities, claims, demands, proceedings, actions, or causes of action, liabilities, expenses, or damages of every kind and nature whatsoever, whether known or unknown, including but not limited to reasonable attorneys’ fees and costs, arising from or in any way related to my attendance at or participation in the Event, whether the result of negligence or any other cause.  

Further, I hereby indemnify, defend, and hold harmless the entities and persons set forth in the foregoing paragraph from any and all liabilities or claims made by other individuals or entities arising from or in any way related to the Event.  

I acknowledge that I assume full responsibility for my safety and the safety of my dog.  I understand that there are inherent risks and dangers associated with participating in the Event, which may result in illness, personal injury, property damage, property theft, permanent disability or death.  I hereby assume all of the risks of participating in or attending the Event, whether known or unknown.  I agree that HSCO and all Event sponsors do not assume any liability or responsibility whatsoever for any harm, injury, personal injury, illness, or damage caused by my dog.  

I understand that I may be photographed at the Event and allow HSCO or any Event sponsor to use my name and likeness of me and my dog for any legitimate purpose without obligation or liability to me.  

This Waiver and Release of Liability shall be construed broadly to provide a release and waiver to the fullest extent permitted under applicable law and that if any portion hereof is later found to be invalid or unenforceable, the balance of this Waiver and Release of Liability shall continue in full force and effect.  I hereby certify that I have read this Waiver and Release of Liability and the rules of the Event attached hereto and I understand the content and agree to abide by the rules.  

If the participant is under 18, this Waiver and Release of Liability must be signed by a parent or guardian

Wiener Dog Race & Running of the Bulls & Corgi Crush 2024 Rules & Code of Conduct

I agree to the following rules for the Running of the Bulls and/or Wiener Dog Race and/or Corgi Crush on October 6, 2024

  • Current rabies vaccination records must be presented at the time of check-in. Bring a rabies certificate from a veterinarian or a dog license receipt (available at County dog licensing or local Humane Societies.
  • FOR RACING DOGS: Two race handlers for each dog entry are required (provided by the entrant).
  • Keep your dog on a 6-foot or shorter leash at all times.
  • Strongly recommended dog is current on all vaccinations & wearing ID tags.
  • You will be responsible for cleaning up after your dog. 
  • Dogs must be friendly with other dogs and people.
  • Dogs in heat should be left at home.
  • Children under 16 years of age must be accompanied by an adult.
  • All owners must remove his or her dog and leave the event if their dog acts aggressively towards people or dogs, poses a safety risk to others, or appears to be unhealthy.
  • HSCO and Event sponsors, including all volunteers, agents, directors & employees thereof, reserve the right to ask any person and their dog to leave the Event at any time and for any reason
