Final participant instructions

We hope you are looking forward to a great race!  The course map is available on the race website, parking map is on the race website and event site map is on the race website. Below are important Race Day Instructions.

PRE-RACE PACKET PICK UP AT SAYVILLE RUNNING COMPANY:

19 MAIN STREET, SAYVILLE:

Wednesday, January 11th - 12:00pm to 7:00pm

Thursday, January 12th - 12:00pm to 7:00pm

Friday, January 13th - 12:00pm to 6:00pm

Day of Race pick up:
Saturday, January 14th – 225 W. Main St, Patchogue -  6:45am to 8:00am

You will need to know your BIB NUMBER at pick up. You are HIGHLY encouraged to pick up your bib and shirt before the race; it will save a trip to pick up on the day of the race since the tent will be located over nearly a mile from the race start. Since the race day bib pick up will be in the tents, you must wear a mask in order to get your bib. If you are picking up for friends, you will need their bib numbers as well. Check the sticker and make sure that the bib you were handed is yours. You will be given the shirt size chosen when you registered.

Please bring a non-perishable food item for the local food pantry to Sayville Running Company at packet pick up. Food donations will be collected at brewery day of race, as well.

PARKING:
We have suggested parking areas that will put you closer to the race start and finish area and a manageable distance from the after party. Please do not plan on parking at the Blue Point Brewing Company – we are using up half of their available parking lots for our party so they can’t provide the other lot for parking to us. We strongly encourage you to carpool if possible.

PLEASE NOTE: There is no Bag Check available on the day of the race.

THE RACE:

THE RACE STARTS AT 8:15AM ON WEEKS STREET JUST WEST OF RIVER AVENUE. There is a STRICT 2 hour, 15-minute cut-off time. This is the equivalent of a 13:30 minute per mile pace. If you are not able to meet this time limit, you will be asked to go to the side of the road. The police will be strictly enforcing this. After 2 hours and 15 minute course support, a finish time or a medal will not be available.

IMPORTANT: As of today, the weather is looking like it is going to be particularly cold, and this is a very exposed course near the water. If you are not used to running outside in these conditions, we recommend layering up and peeling away layers as you run and become warmer! Gloves/mittens and hats that cover the ears are highly suggested. We want everyone to be safe, and part of that safety is making sure you keep your extremities protected from the elements!

You may wear headphones - we recommend keeping them very low so that you can hear cars, foot traffic, and course guide instructions around you!

There will be THREE water stops along the course near mile 2.5, just before mile 4, and just after mile 7. Everyone's needs are individual, so we suggest bringing your own hydration and nutrition for your own comfort.

AFTER PARTY!
The finish line is approximately a 1/2 mile from the site of the post-race party which will be on the grounds of the Blue Point Brewing Company at 225 W Main Street. Please walk on the sidewalk on your way to the party as River Avenue is open to traffic. Entrance to the post-race party is on the east side of the Brewery off of W Main Street – follow signs for the Brewpub. There are no Guest Passes for purchase – the only way inside is with your race bib or as a volunteer.  Please be prepared to show your mask as well to get in.  While there will be food served in the tents, we strongly encourage anyone who is actively eating or drinking to take their refreshments outside the tents where we will have a large outdoor area to accommodate you. We invite everyone to join us in the tents for the awards ceremony (at approximately 10:45am) or to visit our sponsors.

We are thrilled to have Tradewinds playing at the post-race party! We encourage you to enjoy the after party but drink responsibly and use Uber or Lyft for a ride home if needed.

Here is a list of beers to be served at the party:
     o Toasted Lager
     o Hoptical
     o Shore Thing
     o Blueberry
     o Pumpkin Ale
