VIRTUAL RACE: The 23rd Annual Sprint for Life 5K and Sprint for Sprouts Kids' Run has been moved into a virtual event as part of MD Anderson’s proactive measures to prevent the introduction or spread of the 2019 novel coronavirus disease (COVID-19). Make a difference in the fight against ovarian cancer!

Founded in 1998, Sprint for Life has two missions:  to raise awareness and research funds for ovarian cancer. Hosted by The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center, Sprint for Life has raised more than $5.6 million for the Blanton-Davis Ovarian Cancer Research Program, one of the world's leading efforts dedicated to ovarian cancer research.  Funding has allowed researchers to develop new clinical trials, understand the biology of ovarian cancer and develop new therapies for the disease.

What’s a virtual 5K?
·       While Sprint for Life has been cancelled, you can still raise funds for ovarian cancer research and have your shirt mailed to you.
To receive your shirt by "race day," May 2nd, you MUST register by April 15th. Anyone that registers after April 15th will receive their shirt after May 2nd.
·       If you register early you can wear your shirt on Saturday, May 2nd and join the virtual 5K by posting photos of themselves wearing their Sprint for Life shirt to social media. Be sure to read our Community Guidelines first. Information and photos posted on social media is not “protected health information” and is not protected by U.S. health privacy laws. Before posting about someone else, get that person’s permission and ensure accuracy of information.

Want to Create a Team?

Creating a Team is an easy process. You will be asked during registration if you want to create a Group. Don't see your team listed in the dropdown menu?  The first person who registers and creates a group becomes the Captain. Once the group is created, it will appear in the drop-down list of groups and others can choose to join the group.

Fundraising Teams will automatically be created once a Group is created. Fundraising is not required but we highly encourage you to help your team raise more money and help us reach our goal of $60,0000.
