Texas Endurance Runs 24/48

Friday, July 26 to Sunday, July 28, 2024 Fort Worth, TX 76179 US Directions

Pre-Race Information 2023

We’re so excited for the ELEVENTH year of this crazy race! This email should cover everything you need to know, but if something is missing, it's probably in the FAQs: https://runsignup.com/Race/WRATHEnduranceRuns/TxER-FAQs
WHERE / WHEN / WHY
LOCATION:  1824 Staree Lane, Ft Worth, 76179
PACKET PICKUP: Starting at 4 PM on the day of your event
PURPOSE: To raise money for Pediatric Cancer while helping us maintain or improve our fitness over the summer. And to have fun while meeting other crazy people!
**THE BIG FOUR RULES**
1) RESPECT COLESON’S F.R.O.G. CAMP RULES:
·No Alcohol. Coleson's does not allow alcohol on the premises. We won't be doing coozie checks, but to make compliance easy, Athletic Brewing has donated 3 cases of their great-tasting Golden, Lite and Hazy IPA non-alcoholic beers!
·Clean up after yourself. Coleson's is letting us use F.R.O.G. Camp at no charge, so we ask for your cooperation in leaving the property and Staree Lane as clean as when we got there.
·Respect the other residents: please be quiet at night around the house, Lodge and Barndominium, since they will all be occupied.
2) MANDATORY REFLECTIVE GEAR:  Our agreement with the Sherriff’s office requires that every runner needs to wear something reflective. Each runner has a reflective snap bracelet in the goody bag - it can be worn in many ways, such as attached to pack straps, etc.
3) PARK ONLY IN DESIGNATED AREAS:  Failure to do so could result in a DQ.
4) HELP US TO TIME YOU:  Every runner will have a timing chip on their bib. Please wear it on your left hip for the readers. But sometimes sweat can affect the 'read' so please also call out your number as you go past the timing tent.

CAMPING & SHELTERS
CARS:  Yes, you can crew yourself out of your car. Most (but not all) parking areas are near the course
SETUP / BREAKDOWN: Setup starting at 4PM on the day of your race. Breakdown by 8PM on Sunday.
PARKING MAP KEY:
- Cars/No Tents: This is for car camping, crewing yourself out of your car, etc. Parking spaces will be marked in paint so we can make the best use of the space, but there should be enough room to put a chair and small table in front of or behind your car.
- Cars & RV Zone: This is mixed use, for cars with tents, RVs with canopies, etc. Areas are not defined, so please be considerate of others.
- Tents: This is the area for active shelters / tents / canopies/ personal aid stations, etc. (We put this as far away from the quiet camping zone as we could.)
- Quiet Camping Zone:  This is just what it sounds like. If you are going to be hanging out, talking and/or frequently coming and going, please don’t set up in Quiet Camping. Also, no bright lights, please.
-.- Quiet Cots:  The Gathering Place will have marked spaces. It's intended for cots, but you can use your space however you need, as long as its quiet. 48-hour runners get first dibs.
- Volunteer & Staff Parking: Registered volunteers, Race Directors & Timing staff ONLY.

COURSE
START/FINISH:  Each loop begins and ends beside the canopy in front of the Gathering Place
COURSE MARKINGS: Staree Lane will be marked with cones; the turn-around will have a flag and a special blinker. The grass section will be marked with white light sticks; the turns will blink at night.
CONES: When there are cars on the road, please stay within the coned area for your safety. Staree Lane residents aren’t used to pedestrians on their street.
DRIVEWAY: Runners will be sharing the driveway with vehicle traffic, so please encourage your family and friends to drive slowly!
PARKING:  Please see the parking map, and color-coded map key, above.
TRAFFIC:  If you challenge a car, it will win. Please be safe.
SURFACE: We strongly suggest wearing trail shoes for this event. The gravel is large and fierce.
