About Us

In 1998, Anna, my soon-to-be wife, invited me to go for a run on the Auburn University track.  Out of breath and watching her pass me by, I decided it was time to become a runner, and together, that’s what we did.  We trained for our first 5K, then 10Ks, then half-marathons. We spent our 20’s participating in 3-4 races a month.  Running brought us joy and bonded us together.

As a YMCA director for 16 years, I had the joy of creating and organizing races.  It was exciting to share my love of running with others in the community. Whether it was the Black Cat Chase or the Peanut Butter and Jelly Run, I thrived on seeing the joy running brought to the communities where I worked and lived.

Now, after living in Greenville since 2012, we can’t imagine calling anywhere else home.  We are both part of running groups, but still find ourselves pounding the pavement together to talk about life.  It was on one of our many runs that we discussed creating the Ville to Ville.  Little did we know so many people would love the concept as much as we did.

In addition to helping people get excited about running, the Ville to Ville has helped us model philanthropy to our three daughters.  It is our hope that we can continue to put on the best one-day relays in the country for our runners, while also affecting our local community in many positive ways.

We plan to keep running and hope you will join us along the way!

Cheers,

Zack & Anna Hall
