Description
The Trooper Manion Memorial 5K & Kids Mile, "Running In Memory". On February 18th 2006 Trooper Kevin Manion was tragically killed in the line of duty while working in Clarke County. The proceeds from this race support the Frederick County Sheriff's Office Youth Camp.
5K Prize money: Equal for male and female. Open: 1st- $225, 2nd-$125, 3rd-$100. Masters (40+): 1st-$75. Grand Masters (50+): 1st-$50. No duplication of awards; must be claimed on race day. Age group awards. Door prizes from local businesses.
Registration and packet pickup:
§ 5K: Register early: Entry Fee $25 prior to the race; $30 on race day. SVR members receive $1 discount. Register on race day from 7am to 7:45am at the airport.
§ Kids Mile: Register early: Entry Fee $10 prior to race day; $15 on race day. Register on race day from 7am to 7:45am at the airport. Open to children ages 6-12. Awards will be given to the top two males and females in the following age groups: 6-8, 9-10, 11-12.
5K Course:USATF/RRCA-certified 5K course (VA15015RT) that starts and ends at the Winchester Regional Airport, plenty of parking and facilities.
Our Beneficiary:On February 18th 2006, Trooper Kevin Manion was tragically killed in the line of duty. The proceeds from this race will support the Frederick County Sheriff’s Office Youth Camp.
