Friday Afternoon Support

The position is responsible for assisting DRC Sports with the set up of Tents, Tables, Fencing, Bike Racks, Staging, Finish Line, Barricades and Signage. They must be able to lift/carry at least 40lbs.

The position is responsible for assisting cars into designated/assigned/appropriate parking areas. Volunteer will be issued a Safety Vest.

Transition Marshal-Friday

The position is responsible for controlling athlete entry to the transition area; provide assistance with bike rack positioning and space allocation; assist athletes with question and technical issues; provide transition support and direction throughout the event.

Bike Check In-Friday

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

This position is responsible for assuring that all bicycles have working brakes and bar end caps; ensuring that only athletes will enter transition area; ensure bicycle number matches athletes bib number when removing their bicycle from transition.

Registration/USAT Forms

Details

USAT FORMS position is responsible for verifying athlete's information and USA Triathlon membership and completing necessary USAT Membership Forms.

REGISTRATION position is responsible for issuing athlete packet, t-shirt and handing out 'SWAG" bags to each athlete.

Saturday Event Support

Parking-Saturday

Details

The position is responsible for assisting cars into designated/assigned/appropriate parking areas. Volunteer will be issued a Safety Vest and Flashlight Baton.

Body Marking

Details

The position is responsible for marking each athlete with a Large Black Marker in the same format as sample provided. You will need to be able to stand and squat frequently while writing on both arms and legs of each athlete. This is used to help identify each athlete as they pass through the course.

National Anthem Singer

Details

The position is responsible for singing the national anthem on Race morning immediately preceding the event.

Athlete Staging

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

The Athlete Staging position is responsible for ensuring the young athletes stay in numerical order while waiting to start the race. They will assist in moving the athletes, as a group, from one staging area to another.

Swim Course Marshal

Details

The position will be under the direction of the Swim Coordinator; must be able to swim, willing to get wet, and stay in the water for an extended period of time. Marshal's will be stationed in the water along the swim course and will provide encouragement/aid/assistance to swimmers.
The Swim Path Marshal position is responsible for providing athlete direction to transition; ensures that spectators stay clear of the athlete pathway from swim exit to transition entrance.

Bike Course Marshals

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

Run Course Marshals

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

The position is responsible for providing athlete direction and encouragement at various intervals along the run course.

Run Water Stations

Details

These positions will be composed of teams of 3-5 volunteers who will provide fluid to athletes at various intervals throughout the course; setup aid station tent, and supplies as shown on outline that will be provided; collect discarded cups and bag for removal.

Transition Marshal-Saturday

You must be 18 or older to volunteer for this task.

The position is responsible for controlling athlete entry to the transition area; provide assistance with bike rack positioning and space allocation; assist athletes with question and technical issues; provide transition support and direction throughout the event; ensure all bicycles leaving transition are removed by the proper athlete as indicated by number match.

Timing Support

You must be 16 or older to volunteer for this task.

The position is responsible for providing a manual backup to the chip timing system by recording athlete numbers as they pass through transition points.

Finish Line-Water, Chip Removal, Kids Corral

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Details

The position is responsible for:
CHIP REMOVAL: retrieving the timing chip from the athlete's ankle when they cross the finish line;
WATER: responsible for providing bottled water to athletes as they cross the finish line.
FINISHER MEDAL: placing a finisher medal around the neck of each athlete as they cross the finish line.
KID CORRAL: making sure each child is retrieved by an adult wearing the matching wristband only. After they cross the finish line, athletes will be contained in a tented area where parent's can claim their child. Anyone who does not have a matching wristband may not remove a child without speaking to a police officer for verification.

Post Event Food Distribution

The position is responsible for having food prepared and available to athletes as they complete the race; must be able to utilize sharp knives; individuals suffering from any illness will not be allowed to prepare food; plastic gloves must be worn at all times.

Award Preparation

You must be 14 or older to volunteer for this task.

Strike-Clean Up

The position is responsible for assisting DRC Sports with the strike of Tents, Tables, Fencing, Bike Racks, Staging, Finish Line, Barricades and Signage. They must be able to lift/carry at least 40lbs.

Floater-Saturday

Details

Available Saturday to fill into any volunteer position as needed.

Kid Zone

Details

The position is responsible for setting up and supervising the Kid Zone. Kid Zone games and equipment will be provided.

People Mover

You must be 21 or older to volunteer for this task.

The position is responsible for driving people mover (golf cart) from/to parking area to/from registration area, providing transportation support to participants and spectators.
