Event Description
The 3nd Annual Kewaskum TRiE-athlon will take place on the morning of September 12, 2027.
This 'sprint' triathlon takes place in Kewaskum's River Hill Park thanks to the partnership of Kewaskum Friends of Parks and TRiE Fitness. Race participants will complete a 5K run/walk through Hon-E-Kor Golf & Country Club, a 2-mile kayak paddle on the Milwaukee River, and a 12 mile bike ride through the hills of the Kettle Moraine. For those not interested in biking the full 12 mile route, an earlier turn-around spot will be offered, making the total route an 8-mile bike ride.
This event is not timed. Sign up is open to individuals wishing to complete all 3 portions of the triathlon OR open to relay teams of 2-3 individuals wishing to split the events. The event is open to those 12+ years of age.
The trails, roads, and waterways that complete this course are all within scenic Kewaskum and the beautiful surrounding Kettle Moraine. We welcome creativity and encourage joy along the trail. If you'd like to paddleboard the kayak course, use an E-bike, walk instead of run, paddle a double kayak with a partner, or skip 1 of the 3 triathlon events as an individual racer, that's great! We hope you can join us for this event, where the goal for everyone is to have fun!

8:00am - Third Wave Take Off: 5K-Kayak-Bike OR Kayak-5K-Bike

Dogs are not allowed on Hon-E-Kor Golf Course, so should not be participating in the 5K Run/Walk event. However, if your dog would like to join you for the kayak and biking portion of the race, feel free to bring them along for the fun. Dogs must be leashed while in River Hill Park and with a responsible adult. We will not have any event staff available to watch pets while you are participating in the event.
Parking is not allowed in the small lot at the location of the kayak launch. You may pull into the lot to drop off your kayak and/or gear only. There is a large parking lot at River Hill Park near Hon-E-Kor Golf Course that may be utilized. Other available parking is street parking or parking in the Downtown Kewaskum parking lot. You may choose to park your car and bike to the event check-in, as parking may be further away.
Yes. One water station will be available on the 5K run/walk course and you will pass this water station twice on your course.
Yes. Gear and personal items may be left at the park in your bike parking station. This area will be monitored by our event staff during the event.
There is no "packet pick-up" but all participants must check in prior to the event start time on race day. All participants, regardless of race wave, should be checked in by 7:25am when the National Anthem is played. Participants must check out after completing the race + pick up their finishers medal, t-shirt (if ordered), and race day gift bag.
Yes. Porta-potties will be available near the kayak launch/check-in tent. There are also flush bathrooms + sinks at other locations of River Hill Park. One is near the parking lot at the "top of the hill" by Hon-E-Kor Golf Course. The second is on the West side of the river, near the Eisenbahn Trail.
All participants will receive a medal following the completion of the event. T-shirts are available for purchase at the time of your event sign up. Purchase these online through RunSignUp. There will NOT be additional t-shirts available for purchase at the event.
Helmets should be worn during the bike race. The entire bike race is on the road, so be mindful of traffic. Life jackets must be easily accessible on your watercraft, but they do not need to be worn. If you are renting a kayak, your kayak will come with a paddle and a life jacket.
