To tell you the truth, none of us are much of a runner. But we do love rainbows. And cats. And supernovas. Oh, yeah, and supporting basic, human rights. That's why we signed up to be a Denver Pride 5K team. (Also they promised it was fine to sashay if we couldn't run the whole thing.)

This race supports The Center on Colfax, providing critical programs and services for Colorado's LGBTQ+ community, from youth to elders. Every year, thousands use The Center to find resources, mental health services LGBTQ+ friendly medical and legal referrals, engaging programs, social support, and special events. And The Center offers nearly all these services at no cost to the community thanks to generous donations.

Colorado's LGBTQ+ community has grown dramatically in recent years, as families and individuals leave less tolerant states for the safety, acceptance, and gender affirming and reproductive healthcare available in Colorado. In response, The Center on Colfax is rapidly expanding services to meet the needs of the ballooning LGBTQ+ population. Last year, the number of individuals they served grew from 2023 by 183%. There is a story behind every percentage point of that growth.
