My life changed over three years ago when I discovered a bump on my hip that just didn’t make sense. I feel very fortunate to be writing this now 2 years in remission. 

Thanks to my good friend Dr. Scillia, the expert care of Dr. Wittig (my surgeon), and the guidance of oncologist Dr. Tap at MSK, I learned that bump was a rare sarcoma—myxoid liposarcoma with round cells. I underwent surgery, chemo, and radiation, I’m grateful to be doing well today.

However, not everyone is so fortunate. Sarcoma is often resistant to treatment and makes up 15–20% of childhood cancers. That’s why funding research is critical.
