About Erin:
Erin Swiatocha is a runner and coach based in Alexandria, Virginia. She served from 2014-2016 as the President of the Northern Virginia Running Club (NOVA), a diverse community running club and 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization based in Northern Virginia. She now serves as the club Membership Coordinator. As President, Erin oversaw all the administrative, operational, financial, and communication aspects of the club, while also serving as Assistant Coach to NOVA Head Coach Jerry Alexander. During her three-year tenure as President, the club grew from a size of 27 active members to 120, and is now frequently a top ranked winner in the open competition of local DC races, such as the Navy-Air Force Half Marathon (3rd in 2016).
Erin is an RRCA Level II-certified running coach, having completed the Level I certification in January 2014 and Level II in 2015. She began developing training plans starting in 2007 as the leader of the PricewaterhouseCoopers Army Ten Miler running teams. A seasoned runner and racer, Erin was sought out for training advice for friends, coworkers, and family running the Army 10 Miler, and later other races such as the Boston Marathon, Charlottesville Half Marathon, Marine Corps Marathon, and other local races in the DC area.
Erin completed three consecutive Boston Marathons from 2013-2015, with a personal best time of 3:08:24 in 2015. During that period, as part of a phase of “serial racing,” Erin completed 79 races in three years, including 30 in 2013 and 31 in 2014. She brought her personal best half marathon time down to 1:25:23 in the 2015 Philadelphia Rock n Roll Half Marathon and personal best marathon to 3:08:01 in the 2016 Steamtown Marathon. Her personal bests at other distances include: 5K (18:25, September 2015), 10K (38:40, October 2015), Five Mile (31:01, November 2015), and 10 Mile (64:11, October 2015). She has twice ranked in the Top Ten All RunWashington rankings, in 2014 and 2015. She also is a free-lance running writer, having served from 2013-2015 as the RunWashington Military Running feature writer, and blogs for ActiveLifeDC.
Training Plan Design includes the development of a specific, day by day training plan for 12, 16, or 20 weeks. The plan will be in the form of an Excel spreadsheet, with pace guidelines, sample workouts, and weekly mileage goals. You'll have some flexibility in how you implement it on a daily basis, but the general framework and structure will be there. Training Plan Design includes a discussion between the coach and athlete where we can talk about the specifics of the plan and identify anything to add in or change.
Athlete to send coach a recap each week Sunday or Monday via email (with the weekly log attached). Weekly email is used as forum to discuss any questions or issues, injuries, race planning, etc
