Despite an almost total cessation of activities during the Covid pandemic, we have —

  • Bought upgraded audio-visual equipment to enable the Library to improve its use of the lawn for programming
    - Facilitated the opening of the Art Gallery, and the Library's participation in the Arts Amble
    - Funded the
    LIBRARY'S MUSEUM PASS PROGRAM
    - Contributed towards other Library programs, including the popular Haunted Library, Planetarium, and NJ Makers Day programs that were attended by hundreds of children.

In the summerof 2022, we presented our very first Friends' program - MINI GOLF IN THE JOHNSON PUBLIC LIBRARY. Check out the event website here: MINI GOLF IN THE JOHNSON PUBLIC LIBRARY

In May, 2023, we funded the Library's program WHEN BROADWAY WAS BLACK: A CELEBRATION OF SHUFFLE ALONG featuring Caseen Gaines, the book's author and Hackensack resident.

In November, 2023, we collaborated with Art N Soul Tattoo Studio to Present The “Tattoo Chapter,” a unique event at their Studio at 51 Main Street in Hackensack, where ink met imagination in a celebration of literature and art.

The Friends of the Johnson Public Library is an independent  501(c)(3) organization and all net proceeds will benefit the Johnson Public Library.
