Hope you had a great week despite all of the rain.  We are sending this newsletter out a bit early to prep you for next week.

  1. Next Wednesday we have our final pop up track meet of the summer.  We will run the 1 mile and 400.  You must sign your child up and your current WOL Trailblazers Youth membership will $0.00 out the cost.  Register Here

  2. The Copperhead Relay is August 24th and all WOL Trailblazer kids can have an opportunity to race.  It is a 5K where they have the option to drink chocolate milk before they run for a 2:00 deduction.  Note this is also an adult race with beer drinking for adults, so all minors must be accompanied by an adult.  If you would like to join the WOL Trailblazer Team, please fill out this FORM so coach Pierce can place you on a team.

A NOTE ABOUT FALL XC AND SPRINTS

Transitioning to Fall XC Season and Updated Practice Schedule

Our last regular practice of the summer will be on Thursday, August 29th. After that, we'll transition into our Fall Cross Country (XC) season and we will still have our sprints program going. During this time, we will be coaching teams from St. Mark and Williston, along with any children who want to join the WOL Trailblazer team through our distance or sprint programs.

You can keep your membership active throughout the fall, as our coaches will continue to support both distance and sprint athletes. If your child isn’t part of a team, no worries—we’ll include them in the unattached division for any XC races we participate in.

At the conclusion of the XC season on October 17th, we'll resume our normal practice schedule through the end of the year.  This package will be called FALL EXTENTION which we do every year.

Here’s what practices will look like this fall:

DISTANCE GRADE 6-8

Monday: 3:50-5:30pm NHHS Track
Tuesday: 3:50-5:30pm NHHS Track
Wednesday: 3:50-5:30pm NHHS Track
Thursday: 3:50-5:30pm NHHS Track

SPRINTS ALL AGES 6+

Tuesday: 5:45-7:00pm UNCW TRACK
Thursday: 5:45-7:00pm UNCW TRACK

WOL TRAILBLAZER CHOCOLATE MILK MILE NEXT WEEK!

This coming Thursday, for the last 20 minutes of practice we will host our annual relay milk mile, a great prep for Copperhead Relay or just for fun and bragging rights! We will have an alternative drink for anyone allergic to chocolate milk.
