FAQ

Where do you park?

Parking for the 5K is available on town streets.

Parking for the Half Marathon and 18.12 Challenge is available at the Battlefield on a first-come, first-serve basis. Parking is also available along Washington Street, as well as in the public parking areas designated behind the public safety building. Parking is limited, so carpool when possible!

What time should I be there?

We recommend arriving about 1 hour before your race start. Packet pick up will be available before each race starting at this time, and this also gives you plenty of time to find parking, use the restroom, stretch, and get ready!

Where is the start/finish line?

The start/finish line is located at the Sackets Harbor Battlefield. You’ll see the big inflatable arches!

Can my family come to watch?

Of course! There is plenty of space at the Battlefield (which is the start/finish line) for families and spectators. They are also able to walk/drive to certain spots on the course to see you if they wish!

Where do I pick up my packet?

Packet pick up location TBD.

Can I bring my dog/stroller?

Dogs and strollers are welcome at the park, but to keep our fur-friends, baby-friends, and participants/spectators safe, we do not allow dogs or strollers on the course.

Can I wear headphones?

Due to the nature of the course being open, we strongly discourage the use of headphones.

What is the cutoff?

For the safety of our participants and volunteers, all runners need to be off the course at 12:30 p.m. If you are still on course, a vehicle will be available to you to ride back.

Can I register the day of my race?

There will be NO race day registration.

Is the course closed?

Does this race benefit anything?

This year we are proud to partner with friends of state parks.  Donations and a portion of the proceeds will go back to friends of state parks and the development of outdoor recreational facilities and programs.

What will the weather be like?

Upstate New York is known for its…shall we say, unpredictable weather! We’ve seen 50s and rain, and we’ve seen high 80s and full sun! Plan for everything. We’ll have our weather rock on the Battlefield that day to help us determine what’s going on 🙂

What do I get with my registration?

All registrations come with a swag item, finisher’s medal, a great race experience, post race refreshments, and a free beer from 1812 Brewing Company!

Will there be food after the race?

Yes! Thanks to the support of Renzi Food Supply, we will have post race refreshments including fresh fruit, water, electrolytes, bagels, etc.
