Where can I complete my 5K?
Anywhere! This is your virtual 5K experience, and we want you to complete it wherever you wish— sidewalks, trails, treadmills— every mile counts!
How do I track my distance and time?
We accept results on the honor system, but the most accurate tracking is typically via a device with GPS.
When do I need to complete my 5K?
You can run, walk, or jog the UT Dallas Homecoming Virtual 5K any time during the month of March, but we encourage you to join fellow Healthy Comets virtually, and complete your 5K on Pi Day (March 14)! You can post your results on RunSignup through March 31, 2022.
What items are included in the 2022 Homecoming Virtual 5K participant kit?
The first 50 registrants will receive this year’s UTD Homecoming Nighttime 5K shirt. Participant kits for those in the contiguous U.S., Alaska and Hawaii will include a surprise Thank You kit to help show your UTD Spirit! All participants will also receive a link to a downloadable race bib and finisher's certificate. Participants cannot be shipped to a P.O. Box. All other participants can register to receive an online participant kit.
What is included with the online participant kit?
The online participant kit includes a downloadable bib and a finisher’s certificate.
When will my participant kit ship?
We will begin shipping kits the week of February 28. After that, kits will be shipped the week after your registration date. Please allow a few extra days for shipping to Alaska and Hawaii.
What do I do if my t-shirt doesn’t fit?
Unfortunately, we do not offer any exchanges after your kit has been shipped. Please select your correct t-shirt size when you register.
How do I post my 5K results?
Sign in to your RunSignUp account and click "Results" in the navigation bar. Then log your time and download your personalized finisher’s certificate. The final day you can post your time is April 30.
How can I share photos from my 5K with fellow participants on social media?
Please share photos and experiences on the 2022 UT Dallas Homecoming Virtual 5K website and on social media using #UTDHomcoming5K. Remember to tag us @UTDUrec, @HealthyComets, or @UTDallasAlumni!
REGISTRATION QUESTIONS
When does registration open?
Registration opens on February 10, 2022. To ensure your participant kit arrives in time, register at least two weeks prior to the date you plan to complete your 5K.
When does registration close?
Registration closes on March 31, 2022 at 11:59 pm CST.
How do I update my personal information within my account?
Login to your RunSignUp account. You can update personal information, such as your email, password, address, etc.
Can we register as a team?
Yes, you can create or join a team at the start of the registration process.
Can I register more than one person under my account?
Yes, select the Register Another Person option on the first page of registration, or start a new registration and enter your email as the account holder. The primary name at checkout (cardholder name) will receive tax credit for all those registering in your group.
TEAM & FUNDRAISING QUESTIONS
Am I required to be part of a team?
No, you do not have to join a team to participate or register.
How do I create and/or join a team?
On the first page of the registration process, select your category and tell us who you are; you can then create your team. To join a team, use the dropdown menu on the second registration page to select or search for your team—add yourself and submit your registration.
How do I become the team captain?
To become the team captain, you must be the first person to register/create the team.
Does my registration support the UTD Alumni Association?
$10 of every registration directly supports the UTD Student Emergency Fund!
How can I make an additional donation as part of my registration?
You can make an additional donation to the UTD Student Emergency Fund during the checkout process.
