Chef and Owner Alan Solari Brown worked for top chef Fernando Trocca in Buenos Aires, Argentina before migrating to the States in 2006. He worked at various high-end hotels, as a private chef and operated his own catering company. Alongside his wife, Alan opened the gringo in March of 2022 and began his dream of bringing his country’s empanadas to the people of South Florida. The shop’s popularity quickly grew—Delray Beach locals love his baked empanadas and their flaky, buttery crust. They are each baked-to-order in a special Italian oven that churns out empanadas in under three minutes.

The gringo is passionate about the empanada and crafting it to the highest standard. They are best known for Argentinian style empanadas, all handmade and baked to order. The shop offers a unique range of 11 different flavors from classic carne (ground beef) and Cuban to buffalo chicken and truffle mac and cheese — even a take on dessert with dulce de leche.
