Join Prescott House Child Advocacy Center for the 1st Annual Blue Door Dash 5K in Homewood, AL! Run or Walk for victims of child abuse and neglect in Jefferson County! 

What is Prescott House? 
Prescott House is the place where healing begins and hope is restored. Every day, children who are victims of abuse or witnesses to violence come to Prescott House to begin their journey toward healing. Our goal is to give children an opportunity to share their indescribable stories in a child-friendly setting.  We promote a child-centered approach as we gather teams of professionals to better serve these children. When and Where does the event take place: 

Saturday 9/11/2021 at 8am. 

Address:1833 29th Ave S. 

Note: 29th Ave S will be closed between 18th St S and 19th St S from 6am to 10am

***The first 200 registrants will receive a shirt/goodie bag, prior to that we can not guarantee a racer a shirt/goody bag

When and Where is packet pickup? 

Packet pickup is Friday 9/10/2021 at Homewood Track Shak, 2839 18th St S. Birmingham AL. Day of packet pickup will be available from 7am-745am at 1833 29th Ave S (parking lot of old Homewood police station). 

Start/Finish Line Location: 

The address for the start/finish line and race-day packet pickup is 1833 29th Ave S, Birmingham Al. NOTE:29th Ave S will be closed between 18th St S and 19th St S for the event. Start/Finish line will be directly in front of Old Homewood Police Department Building on 29th Ave S.

Parking: 

Free parking is available in downtown Homewood for the event.

Medical Station/ EMS: 

A medical Tent will be located near Start/Finish Line on 29th Ave S. First Aid  will be available at water station on Manhattan Street. Police officers and volunteers will be stationed throughout the course, but for any medical emergency please dial 911. 

Water Station: 

Water station is located at miles 1.5 and 2.25 on Manhattan St near Seminole Dr Intersection

Pet/Stroller Friendly

Yes, this event is pet and stroller friendly, please line up at starting line based on your anticipated pace with fastest runners at front of start line and walkers at back of the line.

Results

Results will be posted on Runsignup website within 3 hours of event finish. Onsite results will not be available.

Chip Timed

Yes, the event is chip timed for accuracy by The Right Time. 

Certified Course

No, the course has been measured and audited for accuracy using mapping and GPS tools but course is not USATF certified at this point.

Awards

Ceremony will start at 9am. Top Male and Female awards will be presented at ceremony. Age Group awards will be available on runsignup page within 3 hours of event completion. Please follow social distance protocols during the awards ceremony. 

Covid Protocols implemented for this event: 

Water stations will provide bottled water instead of cups of water. All water station and packet pickup volunteers will be wearing PPE to minimize contact with runners. Virtual participation option is available for runners. Awards ceremony has been reduced to Top Male and Female winners only. All other awards will be posted online for viewing. Volunteers have participated in training session regarding raceday social distancing and covid protocols. 

Are vaccinations required to participate in the event: 

No, we encourage all runners to follow CDC guidelines for vaccinations, but do not require proof of vaccination for the event.
