Description
Quest to Cure Sickle Cell Foundation is a non-profit organization formed in 2003 by a single mother of five; in which two of them, a set of identical twins suffer from the most severe form of sickle cell disease. Sickle Cell Disease is a genetic blood disorder that causes severe pain and life threatening symptoms. It is one of the first molecular diseases founded in 1910 yet least recognized. Over 100,000 individuals are affected with 1 in every 600 being African American and 1 in every 1000 being Hispanic, Greek, Italian, or East Asian among others. Quest to Cure is an organization dedicated to helping children with sickle cell disease focus on life not pain. Since inception, Quest to Cure has conducted 2 successful Summer Camps serving over 100 children and all proceeds from this event will allow us to continue to provide for our kids.
