Race Joy
RunSignup has created a method for using Racejoy as part of the virtual race experience. Participants can choose to run a pre-determined course (at any time they like within the event time window).
After downloading the Racejoy app (IPhone or Android), the runner selects their event and course, then hits "Start", and Racejoy does the rest. Runners will be given alerts at each mile mark along with current and average pace.
Results will automatically be sent to RunSignup, where they can be viewed nearly immediately.
This is a great tool for friends and family to use to follow the runners progress while staying they stay at home! Friend and family can see your place on a map and can even send remote "cheers". We invite you to check it out along with the courses that are available for each distance.
As always, the Virtual Race can be completed on any route (or treadmill) that you choose.
However, Racejoy will only be available if you choose to run one of the courses we have set up for you.
Install the Racejoy App on your phone
Set up your Racejoy account (you wont have to do again)
Go to RSU page that you signed up on and use "Find a Participant" to get your bib number (it should have come in an email as well)
Find your race in RaceJoy
Click Track Me
When you're ready to go - click Start My Race
Run your race, and when you finish press you will be prompted to Post Results. If you choose to do so, you will directly report your own time through the app.
Dont forget that others can follow your progress and send you cheers by using the same app on their phone!
