What is the BreatheStrong SummerCise Challenge? 

It’s an online challenge where Miles for Cystic Fibrosis BreatheStrong members can compete to complete 24 workouts over the first 60 days of summer. 


Who can participate? 

Past or present BreatheStrong grant recipients. We ask that children under the age of 16 must register with a parent.  


What do I need to participate in the SumerCise Challenge? 

You’ll need an account with MapMyFitness. It can be an account via the MapMyFitness website or the MapMyFitness app downloaded onto your smartphone or tablet. 


When does the challenge start? 

The SummerCise Challenge starts June 24th and ends August 22nd. 


What day can I register? 

Registration for the BreatheStrong SummerCise Challenge opens June 18th and closes June 27th.  Registration is limited to the first 25 team members so don’t wait! 


You’ll hear from us on June 24th when the BreatheStrong SummerCise Challenge begins! 


How do I register? 

  1. Signup for the SummerCise Challenge on RunSignUp.
  2. Create an account with MapMyFitness.
  3. Add “Breathe Strong” (2 words) as your MapMyFitness friend.
  4. Expect a SummerCise Challenge invitation on MapMyFitness.

Workouts? What types of workouts count towards the SummerCise Challenge? 

You’ll choose your physical activity. With MapMyFitness,  you can count any physical activity that is outside your daily routine as a workout session (running, swimming, online yoga or exercise class, weightlifting, walking, stationary biking, treadmill, trampoline exercise, hiking, etc.). 


Your workouts can be different each time. Whatever your choice of exercise, you can join the fun! 


How do I log my workouts? 

Log your workouts by connecting your fitness tracker (Garmin, FitBit, Nike+, Apple Watch, Samsung Galaxy +,  Smartwatch or Smart Phone, etc.) to the MapMyFitness app or manually log your workouts on the MapMyFitness app or website. 


What if I don’t have a fitness tracker? 

No worries! You can manually enter your workouts in the MapMyFitness app or on the website. 


How much does it cost to participate? 

It’s FREE! There’s no charge to participate in the challenge. 


How many workouts do I have to log?

Log 8 workouts for a t-shirt, 24 for Finisher Reward, or log the most workouts to receive an additional prize.
