Course Maps
NOTE TO ALL PARTICIPANTS:
In an effort to reduce congestion on the pedestrian walkway, the Danville Police Department has agreed to close the right lane of the North Bound MLK Bridge to allow ALL RUNNERS to utilize the road which will allow only WALKERS to cross using the pedestrian walkway.
Those participating in the 5K Run/10K, and 1/2 marathon, will begin their event as they always have by running down Bridge Street, (please beware of the cobblestones), toward Patton Street, but will now cross the Dan River using the Right Hand Traffic lane on the North Bound MLK Bridge which will be closed to traffic. They will take a Right onto the Right Hand Lane of River Street, (58 East), and take another RIGHT onto the sidewalk at the Davenport Gas Company as they proceed to the Riverwalk Trail.
IMPORTANT-The HALF MARATHONERS, the 5K & 10K runners will take a LEFT onto the River Walk Trail and head toward Dan Daniels Park.
The Walkers will cross the MLK Bridge on the pedestrian sidewalk as they have always done. They will stay on the sidewalk when they get to 58East/ River Street, take a right at Davenport Energy and take a Right onto the River Walk Trail, heading toward the YMCA.
WALKERS-Please be aware and respectful of the 1/2 marathoners who may be returning to the finish line at the same time that you are. Please give them ample space on your RIGHT as they merge with you upon EXITING THE RIVER WALK TRAIL and continue back to the Start/Finish line.
The runners and walkers will return to the finish line the same way they came out. The walkers will again have the entire pedestrian walkway on the MLK Bridge available to them, thus reducing congestion at the start and finish of each race.
Mapping provided by the City of Danville IT/GIS.

As you make the turn and run back up the street on the left side and reenter the Riverwalk up to the turnaround which is just shy of the Danville Regional Airport.
Note: You will not have to do the “spur” on the return. The sidewalk is nice and wide and in good shape, and also a bit hilly. You will reach the turn around located at the Airport Trailhead Parking Lot where you will be greeted by smiling faces and the water and fuel stop sponsored by the Brick Tri and Running Store! We will have a port-john, GU, oranges, water and Gatorade!
