Welcome to the inaugural Strides to Save Lives Virtual 5K Run/Walk!

This event is a fundraiser that benefits the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society on behalf of the candidates running for the Man and Woman of the Year, Silicon Valley. All proceeds will go directly to help fund research for blood cancers and provide patient services.  To find out more about what the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society does and where your money goes, please visit www.lls.org. There are two options for registration:

  • Silver = registration + bib and finisher certificate
  • Gold = registration + bib, finisher certificate, medal and buff

This is a virtual fun 5K walk/run and you can do this event anytime and anywhere through July 18, 2020. The Grand Finale for Man And Woman of the Year is July 18, 2020 and we're hoping we can all do this "together" on that day. Post pics of you, your family, and your friends doing event on Instagram, Facebook, and Twitter using the hashtag: #LLSstridestosavelives.  You don't have to be a runner! All ages and abilities are welcome! Don't forget to come back to your race page and post your times to get your finisher certificate! Sign up today! Race registration closes on 7/13/2020 @11:59pm. Q:  Where can I run or walk for this event?
A:  You can run or walk anywhere in the world, indoor or outdoor, to do this event. 
 
Q:  When can I do this run/walk?
A:  You can do this run/walk any time as long as you finish by July 18, 2020.  The Grand Finale of  
      Man and Woman of the year is July 18th if you want to celebrate the Finale with all the candidates and do this event virtually with friends and family.
 
Q:  Do I have to run/walk outside?
A:  You can go outside, inside, in your basement, treadmill, around your house.  Any way you can do your miles count!
 
Q:  How are teams set up?
A:  Teams will be set up by the Man or Woman of the Year candidate

Q. How do I join a team?

A: During the registration process, you will have the option to become a fundraiser and/or join a team. Select the team you would like to join from the pull down under Team Fundraisers. 
 
Q:  Where do donations go?
A:  All donations go to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.  In addition, your race registration fees will also got to the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society.

Q:  How will I get my digital bib?
A:   When you register there is a link on the confirmation that takes you to the digital bib.  You can also get you bib from the Stride to Save Lives site then go to your profile (the face icon in the upper right of the race page).  Go to my registrations.  Click on View Registration. On the bottom right there is a link - view digital bib.   Click there to print your bib. 

Q:  Are race fees tax deductible?
A:  Generally, fees are not tax deductible, you may want to check with your tax advisor
 
Q:  How do I log my race when I complete it?
A:  Click on the MORE button on the race page and results will be in a drop down. Click there to take you to the results page.  We are unable to link to your devices.

Q:  How do I get  my digital finisher certificate?

A:  Go the race page and click on more.  Select Results.  Click on submit virtual results.  In the search participant put in your name, click on look up registration. Takes you to the page with the participants name.  Submit your results - click on submit virtual results.  You should then be able to get your finisher certificate                                                                                                                                                                                                        


Q:  How do I receive my medal and buff?
A:  These items will be mailed to the address that you entered when you registered for this race.  They will be sent out after the close of the race.  (Around July 22, 2020)
