Running Is Not Closed virtual run!
You must sign up by Friday July 10th @6am to be part of the challenge. Choose the time frame you want to cover the mileage in, and get registered. This virtual race starts Friday July 10th regardless of what challenge you choose to sign up for.
It is 461 miles from the start line of the Sean O’Brien 100k course to the start line of the Lake Sonoma 50 Mile course. Do you have what it takes to cover this mileage virtually? Keira Henninger is teaming up with the awesome folks from Lake Sonoma 50 Mile to bring you one of the most epic virtual runs yet! Starting on Friday July 10th you will have the choice to cover the 461 miles in one week, two weeks, four weeks, eight weeks, or 12 weeks. Which challenge are you up for?
After you register you will receive an email with your virtual bib. You also will be able to login your daily mileage once the virtual race starts on July 10th. This is key for us! You must log your daily and/or weekly miles in on our mileage link so we know you are covering the distance. In order to get your medal, and shirt you must log all your miles so we know you completed the challenge you signed up for. When you log your daily mileage you also will be asked of time. For those finishing in the top 50 results please note they will be checked. Please include a strava link or Garmin info or some way for us to confirm if you are going for a top finish. All runners who complete the challenge will receive a beautiful handmade clay finishers medal, and awesome tri blend shirt. All swag will be mailed out within three weeks of you finishing the challenge you registered for.
Your mileage can be ran anywhere! Out your front door, on the trails, up a big mountain, or even on a treadmill. You do the miles, record it on our site, and we do the rest! Just don't forget when you log you're miles on our site, and that you also record your time each day that it took you to run the mileage. See below for detailed instructions on how to do that.
We will include prizes for some overall winners in each virtual race! Categories are below. Prizes will be a handmade mug, and some other epic swag!
1. 1st-10th overall male and female in each race of fastest times. When you upload results we will ask for the time it took to run those miles. Those placing in the top will be checked. 2. 1st-10th overall male & female in each race of ages 60+ with the fastest uploaded times.
HOW DO I LOG MY MILES?? Logging your miles is a manual input. There is NO need to send us your gps file every time you complete a run, but if you are a top competitor we suggest you keep some kind of proof/record of each one of your runs. We will require top runners to show proof of their runs. In the mileage log there is an area for notes, you can paste a link to your run there if you happen to be a top contender. You can log your mileage every day you run, as many times as you want. We suggest you do it daily so you do not forget.
Logging your miles:
Step 1: Simply click the "Results" link up on the top right hand of this page. Step 2: Click "submit virtual results. Step 3: Enter your first and last name Step 4: Enter your mileage for that day and hours it took you to run that mileage. Step 5: The results page will be live starting on July 10th.
The results tab will also take you to a page where you can see a leader-board for the event you are registered for.
Charity: This virtual run is for a good cause! We are raising money for the Children of Vineyard Workers Scholarship Fund. We hope to raise $5,000 for this amazing foundation. 100% of all donations will go to this charity.
