Description
Join the 5K Chico Climate Challenge for a community run in the beautiful, Lower Bidwell Park. The purpose of the 5K Chico Climate Challenge is to raise funds for and awareness of non-profit programs to reduce our region’s carbon footprint. After the run, participants can enjoy a light breakfast, music, and learn about climate action in the Chico community.
Please bring your own water bottle to reduce waste, Klean Kanteen will be providing filtered water!
Proceeds from the event will benefit GRID Alternatives and the Butte Environmental Council. Our goal of $5,000 will go towards making solar accessible to families in the Chico area, resulting in the prevention of 80 tons of greehouse gas emissions. With the contribution from your registration, you will prevent of a 1/2 ton of greenhouse gas emissions, equivalent to planting 13 trees.
Create a team of 5 or more and save each participant some money! This can be done during the registration process. Just look for the "Create or Join a Team of 5 or More" button.
Packets will be available for pick up on Friday, July 17th at Fleet Feet in Chico (241 Main St.) from 10am - 6pm. You can also pick up your packet between 6:30am - 6:55am before the run.
T-Shirt/Tank Top Cutoff Date
You have the option of requesting either a T-Shirt or a Tank Top. All registrations received prior to June 26 will be guaranteed their requested style and size on race day. While you will be able to request a shirt after June 26 your preferred style and size is not guaranteed. You will not be able to request a shirt style or size after July 12 and will be at the mercy of the leftovers! Please register early!
