Shoes on the Move 5k Fun Run

As runners we go through many shoes over the years. Each shoe has a story. They may be early risers, late night runners. They may have seen miles on road, trails, sand or even treadmills. With Sneakers 4 Good the story does not end with the end of the training cycle. We collect used shoes and offer them an additional story!

This program supports over 4,000 micro-entrepreneur families in 24 different developing countries. Micro-enterprises are small businesses, typically owned and operated by families of 1-2 people. Because of systemic poverty in these countries, working-age adults have to create their own opportunities.

They sell the sneakers you gather in their communities, which promotes commerce opportunities and leads to economic sustainability. Micro-enterprise makes it easy to keep your old sneakers out of landfills and put them into the hands of those who need them most.

Join us on May 5th as we host a "Shoe-raiser". We will be collecting gently used running and walking shoes. For every pair of shoes you donate you will get a raffle ticket that will be entered in our drawing. We will be giving aways lots of fun running swag!

• Avoid donating single sneakers or mismatched shoes, wet or moldy shoes, or running shoes with holes or tears
