Description

For the fourth consecutive year, California Triathlon volunteers are working at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum at LA Rams home football games to help raise the money that our nonprofit uses to fund its programs. We operate beer and concession stands and earn a percentage of the sales.  If you feel you have benefited from your participation in triathlon, this is a fantastic way to give back to our sport!

Reasons to Volunteer

Support California Triathlon’s Mission - California Triathlon helps grow the sport of triathlon by offering free membership, group training, coaching and other resources.  However, we need to raise money to support our programs.  The money we raise through volunteering at the Coliseum underwrites our programs to encourage and empower youth participation in triathlon.  Do it for the kids and for future of this (multi) sport that we all love!

Team Building - Make new friends and find new training partners. Work together to prepare, stock, and serve the thirsty masses!

It’s the NFL! - See what happens inside the stadium hours before kickoff, when the gates open, and ultimately during a game.  Typically our stands get shut down at the end of the 3rd Quarter so there’s time to catch the end of the game.  As an added bonus, the home team is pretty good and may get to host another playoff game in January, which we would be able to work.

Race for Free - As a thank you for your time and effort, Cal Tri Events is kicking in a free race entry for every game you work at the Coliseum.  You can use the entry yourself or give it to a friend.  Race Entries are good for a slate of 2020 races including Cal Tri Events LA, Newport Dunes, and more.

Exclusive SWAG - We’ll be ordering exclusive California Triathlon apparel for our fundraising volunteers, including premiums for working at multiple games. When you show up for your workout in a sweet long sleeve technical and people ask where you got it, tell them you earned it!

In order to volunteer at any of our Rams game fundraisers, you must attend a dedicated training session related to serving and selling alcohol.  Legends Hospitality, the company that operates all concessions at the coliseum and the fundraising program for nonprofit organizations, REQUIRES that all volunteers complete a TEAM (Techniques in Effective Alcohol Management) training session and pass a short written test at the end to be certified.  Once you pass the test, your certification is good for three years.  After three years, you can simply attend another session and pass the test again.

We've been working with Legends to get another training session scheduled prior to the end of the current football season.  We can now confirm that a session will be offered at the LA Coliseum on Saturday, November 9th, at 10 AM.  The entire training session including the test at the end should take approximately three hours.

Please sign up if you plan to attend this training session so that we can provide an accurate count for training materials.  Additional details including where to enter the coliseum and parking information will be sent out to registered attendees by Friday, November 8th,

If you have questions or need additional information, please contact anthony@californiatriathlon.org.  Thank you for your consideration, your time, and your support!
