Description
The registration fee entitles each competitor to an assigned number, a commemorative T-shirt, and a goody bag. Medals are awarded to the winners of each competition, and olive wreath crowns are given to the fastest male and female participant of the three separate races (5K Run, 5K Walk, and 10K Run). After the race, medals are awarded, snacks are given, and a raffle is held. The raffle offers a variety of gifts including Mediterranean exports, local restaurant gift certificates, family pack admission to the Oakland Greek Festival, and much more!
Each event (5K Walk, 5K Run, and 10K Run) is timed and awarded according to age categories.
This annual event has become the largest fund raiser for the Ascension Historical Society (AHS).
It continues to improve and expand due to the generosity of the event's organizers, sponsors, donors, and participants.
