Description
NBVC Point Mugu Family Beach Surf Fishing Tournament 2024
It's that time of the year again! Who's NBVC's King or Queen of the Beach!
MUST BE at least 12 years old and have fishing experience to participate! Open to ALL HANDS with normal base access. Guests can be sponsored on by authorized base patrons.
Location: Point Mugu Family Beach
Date: Saturday, July 20th, 2024
Cost: Active Duty/Active Dependents: $25.00
DOD/Retired/Guests: $27.00
All Anglers must bring their own fishing gear: Rods/Tackle/Bait
ALL Anglers 16 and older must have a valid CA Fishing License with Ocean Enhancement!
No Ocean Enhancement needed for anyone with a 1 Day, 2 Day, or 10 Day license.
· Angler check In 7:30 am - 7:50 am
· Breakfast burrito, iced coffee, water, and t-shirt distribution @: 7:40 am - 7:55 am
. Group Briefing @ 7:55 am - 8:00 am
· Tournament Fishing Starts @: after morning colors 8:02 am
· Tournament Fishing ends @: 10:02 am
Prizes:
1st Place- $100 Gift Certificate to Eric's Tackle Shop
2nd Place- $50 Gift Certificate to Eric's Tackle Shop
3rd- Place - $25 Gift Certificate to Eric's Tackle Shop
*All participants will receive an event t-shirt, breakfast burrito, and an iced coffee or water.*
Tournament Rules and Regulations
· All anglers 16 and older must have a valid fishing license with Ocean Enhancement.
· Daily Bag and size limits will be enforced per Fish and Game Regulations if keeping any fish.
· All Anglers must catch their own fish and show it to a judge for scoring purposes!
· A one (1) rod maximum in the water at all times per angler!
· Anglers can use live baits, hard baits, soft baits, spinnerbaits, lures, artificial grubs, mussels, sand crabs and spoons etc...
· No Sabiki’s or more than 2 hooks allowed!
· Tournament Fishing will be from 8:02 am -10:02 am on the shoreline of Point Mugu Family Beach.
· Winner will be announced at approximately 10:07 am.
· In the event of a tie, a 10 minute tie breaker round will take place, and winner will be declared @ 10:18 am
Approved Species and Point Value for this event are as follows:
· Smelt: 1 Point Each
· Croaker: 2 Points Each
· Perch: 3 Points Each
. Bat Rays/Sting Rays/Sharks: 3 Point Each
· Corbina/Striped Bass: 4 Points Each
· Halibut/White Sea Bass: 5 Points Each
