Description

Race to Save the Earth is virtual bike race that anyone can participate in. Whether you're a Tour de France level cyclist or need to dust off the bike in the garage, all you need to do is go for a one 10 mile ride from October 15th to November 3rd, record your time, and post it on the results page. In fact, you can even compete on a stationary bike. Registration is completely free, but a $10 dollar donation to The Coalition for Rainforest Nations is suggested (more is accepted and much appreciated). Upon uploading your results and emailing your donation receipt and to racetosavetheearth@gmail.com, you can join the exclusive, invite only Race to Save the Earth Donators' club on the Strava app. With entry into this club, your friends, family, and everyone else will know that you competed in this race and that you donated to save our planet from the devastating effects of man-made climate change. Registering for this race, regardless of whether or not you donate, will enter you into a random drawing for a cycling jersey with Race to Save the Earth branding (donators will gain an additional entry in the raffle). For cyclists in San Francisco, there will be a 10 mile Strava segment that take racers through beautiful Golden Gate Park. The top three times in both the men's and women's categories will win nature-themed cloth face masks that can be worn anywhere, but are especially good for cycling and other forms of outdoor exercise.
