Q: What time does the race start?
A: The 9K race starts promptly at 8:00 a.m. The 5K race will start shortly after. The 1 Mile Fun Run starts at approximately 8:30 a.m.
Q: Can I register by mail?
A: No, only online registration is available.
Q: Do I get a shirt?
A: The first 300 9K and 5K registrants will receive a shirt and a challenge coin.
Q: I'm not sure if I'm registered, what should I do?
A: You will receive a confirmation email. Be sure to check your spam file if you cannot find the confirmation email. If you think you may have deleted the email, you can simply log in to your RunSignUp account and you will see the races for which you have registered.
Q: How do I pick up my race packet?
A: Packet pick-up is Friday, October 4, 2025, 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., in the Bob Hope Village Commons’ ballroom, located at 30 Holly Ave., Shalimar, Florida.
Q. Are dogs allowed?
A. No, dogs are not allowed at this event. Certified service dogs are allowed.
Q: Are strollers allowed?
A: Strollers are allowed. We do ask that strollers line up at the back of the race.
Q: What is not allowed on the race course?
A: For safety reasons, wheelchairs, skates, bicycles, wagons, scooters, walkers, skateboards, baby carriers, and motorized chairs are not allowed on the race course.
Q: Can I register on race day?
A: Please register online before September 30, 2025.
Q: Can my child run or walk the race?
A: Yes. All registrations for minors under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult registration and require a waiver signed by a guardian or parent.
Q: How is the race timed?
A: The race is timed by Race Krewe using ChronoTrack for precise measurement.
Q: Who benefits from this event?
A: Proceeds and donations from this event benefit the memory care wing at the Air Force Enlisted Village’s assisted living residence, Hawthorn House, where military widows, retirees, veterans, and their family members with Alzheimer’s and dementia reside.
Q: Am I required to do a fundraiser?
A: No.
Q: How can I participate for free?
A: Commit to raising $109 when you register for your event. When you’ve reached $109 in donations for the Air Force Enlisted Village, we’ll well refund up to the cost of your registration fee.
Q: Where do I park on race day?
A: Parking for all participants and spectators is at Longwood Elementary School, 50 Holly Ave., Shalimar. It is a short walk to the starting point.
Q: Are refunds or event transfers available?
A: No.
Q: What if rain is forecasted for race day?
A: The CMSAF Binnicker Memorial Run will be held rain or shine. If severe weather is forecasted, we will notify participants by email of any delays. Please check the Air Force Enlisted Village Facebook page for the latest information.
Q: Is race insurance available?
A: Yes, but it can only be purchased at registration. You can not go back into your RunSignUp account later and purchase race insurance.
Q: How can I volunteer at the event?
A: Please contact Lisa, our volunteer coordinator, at 850-651-3766 ext. 321 for more information.
Q: Will medical aid be available?
A: Medical aid will be available near the finish line. If you need medical aid while on course, please notify the nearest course marshal so they can call for help.
Q. Will restrooms be available?
A. Portables and a handwashing station will be available across the start/finish area.
Q. Will there be water stations along the race course?
A. There will be four (4) water stations along the race course.
