No Swag Included

Solo (No Swag)

Anywhere you want. This is a virtual event. But we suggest finding the biggest mountain around and climbing it… repeatedly. #HillsOnHillsOnHills

Register today to get climbing and continue Moun10 Ultra’s work of diversifying the starting line!

Can you stake your claim to the title of King / Queen of the Moun10? The high alpine is dry, the trails are open and the weather window is perfect. How high can you climb? How vertical will your routes be? How many peaks will you tackle as you represent your home state in the title for The State of Climbing?

Moun10 Running’s inaugural event will be a virtual race to the top. It is no secret that our founder loves vert more than any other aspect of trail running - so we shouldn’t be surprised that this event features a vert heavy format with emphasis on vert gained per mile, and pits the vert heavy states against one another. Will Utah reign supreme again as they did in the awesome Cirque Series MAX Vert October? Will Arizona’s finest wake up early to beat the heat and prove there’s a reason they host the Raised By Rams Vertical Challenge? Or will the high alpine states of Colorado, Wyoming, Montana and Washington take the title with their massive peaks? Or will the East coast squad show up and prove everyone wrong?!

Only outdoor activities powered by two feet will be accepted. Hike or run your way to victory! No treadmill vert, rock climbing, skinning, biking, etc… and all vert entries must be round trip -  with a few exceptions. You may do point to point activities, unless you are just going up and then taking a vehicle down the mountain. An acceptable point to point activity would be something like the Boulder Skyline Traverse or Aspen to Crested Butte route, as these point to point routes don’t increase your vert per mile gained and let you walk off the hard part. You’re on the honor system for the most part, but we will be checking some GPX data in certain categories.

Registration closes on July 2, 2021 at 11:59 PM MST

Vert achieved between July 1, 2021 at midnight until July 31 at 11:59 PM MST will be counted

We highly encourage everyone to record their activities on a daily basis so the leaderboard is as accurate as possible. All entries for vert must be per activity, you cannot upload a batch of activities in one entry.

Awards will be presented as follows to the top female and male:

Kings and Queens of the Moun10 (Total Vert)
Free entry for 2022; Awards are custom buckles designed by Aravaipa Artworx!

Mountain Goat Award (highest vert per mile average; to be eligible, must have at least 30k of vert)
Free entry for 2022; Awards are custom buckles designed by Aravaipa Artworx!

On A Mission Award (highest single activity vert total; will be confirmed by reviewing GPX data)
Free entry for 2022; Awards are custom buckles designed by Aravaipa Artworx!

There will be a weekly award for the best sunrise or sunset summit photo - voted on by our IG account followers. Awards are custom buckles designed by Aravaipa Artworx! Make sure to tag us in your photos, as well as #Moun10MastersVert #KingoftheMoun10 #QueenoftheMoun10

The state with the highest number of vertical feet climbed per participant (minimum 10 participants) will be awarded the title of “The State of Climbing” and bragging rights for the next year. The 2022 virtual race shirts will include an homage to the top state from 2021.

For every 500 registered participants, a OneSeed Expeditions Everest Basecamp trip (value $2,800; airfare not included) will be randomly drawn and awarded at the end of the race. Sign up today so we reach 500 and tell your friends! The more people we get, the more trips we give away! OneSeed Expeditions is a Certified B Corp and a friend of the Moun10 Ultra family. More info on the trip here: Take Me To Everest Basecamp! Winners will have to take their trip by the end of September 2022. Winners who do not wish to go to Everest Basecamp can elect to take a $1,000 cash prize. Register today and get your name in the drawing when we reach 500 people!

There are four registration options once you begin the registration process:

Full Registration: $50
This includes your race registration, technical tee or tank and a finisher's medal

No Swag Registration: $35
This includes your race registration and NO SWAG.

Every registered runner will receive a Moun10 Ultra technical tee or technical tank top in the size of their choice; specifically designed for this virtual race to the top! Finisher medals will also be awarded to each participant. Once registration closes (July 2), final numbers will be sent to the shirt and medal makers. Expect to receive your items by the end of August. PLEASE be patient with us regarding swag, we are using small, local shops with a track record of high quality production. Updates will be sent out as items are shipped.

There is also a swagless entry option, where participants can decline the technical tee and finisher’s medal and only be eligible for the awards below. If you select this option, you WILL NOT receive a medal or technical tee. You will also be eligible for any giveaways, if applicable.

All registrants will receive a digital bib

***International shipping rates may apply***

Under my profile, find our race, and click on the button that says "Submit Virtual Results". From here, you will be directed to enter the info we need. You are not required to enter your activities every day, but it does make the leaderboard more fun to watch that way!

If you choose to enter a bunch of activities at once, they must be entered separately - and not in bulk - as we have some contests that rely on per activity vert
