The Sprint Race should not necessarily be considered a "beginner" triathlon race. The 750 meter Open Water Swim ("OWS") is not "easy". Only those with the ability to swim the equivalent of 1000 meters non-stop in a pool should register for this event. Additionally, OWS is more challenging than pool swimming, especially at the venue's 6900 ft elevation. To participate safely in this triathlon swim you need to be proficient in the freestyle swim stroke and have practiced open water lake swimming. If you do not think that you can complete this 750 meter (820 yard) swim in 33 minutes (or twice that for the Olympic race), we suggest that you do not register for this triathlon. The safety of our participants and swim volunteers is our main concern. By registering, you are agreeing to comply with this statement.
