The Georgetown SUP-Athlon features 0.5 mile of stand-up-paddle boarding on the inlet at Georgetown Lake, 5 miles of road/gravel/dirt biking around the Town of Georgetown, and a 5k run around the lake*

Looking for a new summer tradition suitable for all abilities?! Join us this July for the Georgetown SUP-Athlon! Participants will embark on a 0.5-mile stand-up paddleboarding journey along the scenic Georgetown Lake inlet, followed by a 5-mile road/gravel/dirt biking course around historic Georgetown. Finally, the 5k run will loop you around beautiful Georgetown Lake. Teams are warmly invited to join in the excitement! 

Every finisher will be rewarded with a commemorative finisher glass, serving as a cherished memento of the event.

Check-In and Day-of Registration commence at 7:00 am, providing participants with ample time to register and set up their gear. Electric pumps will be conveniently available on-site for board inflation if needed.

*Note: All distances are approximate.

*SUP Rentals are accessible, though availability is not guaranteed for day-of registrants. 

Check-In and Day of Registration will open at 7:00am. 

Please ensure you arrive with enough time to check in and set up gear. We will have two electric pumps on site to inflate boards if needed.

A portion of the proceeds from the event will be donated to the Clear Creek County Advocates. The Clear Creek County Advocates is a non-profit victim service organization that provides comprehensive support to victims of crime and personal tragedy, and offers community education regarding victimization and crime prevention in Clear Creek County. Parking is open at any of the public lots around the lake.

Please DO NOT park at Cabin Creek Brewing as that is the staging area for the event.

RACE FAQ

 

Do I have to wear a lifejacket while on my SUP?                                                                                                                                                                                     Yes! All participants MUST wear their lifejacket while out on the lake. The water in Georgetown Lake can be very cold, and safety is number one priority!

Can I drop off my equipment before parking?
Yes! Gear can be dropped off in front of the parking entrance to Cabin Creek. Please note there will be vehicle access into the Cabin Creek parking lot during the event. 

Where should I park?
Parking is available at Georgetown Lake (just across the road from Cabin Creek). 

When does the SUP Inflate Station open?
We will have a limited number of electric pumps and hand pumps available starting at 6am. 

How is the race being timed?
Racing Underground will be coordinating timing this year! Participants will be given an ankle chip that MUST be worn on your LEFT ankle at all times. 
In addition, you will be given a bib to wear, and a bike frame number.

What if I am on a relay team?
SUP-er will have their number written on their hand with a marker 
Runners will wear the bib#
Bikers will have a frame #on their bike (on the top-tube or seat post)
ONE ankle chip will be provided per team. You will need to pass this onto your team mate at each transition. 

When can I pick up my bib and timing chip?
Bib pick up opens at 7:00am.

When does online registration close?
Online registration closes at 6pm on 7/03

I missed online registration! What can I do?
In person registration will be available from 7:00am to 7:45am on the day of the race.Payment can be made via cash, Venmo, or credit card. Please arrive as early as possible! 

I really want to participate, but don’t have a SUP?
We have a limited supply of ISUP’s to rent, you can choose this option at checkout. We cannot guarantee rentals will be available if you sign up on race day (so register today!) Rentals also include a lifejacket. 

Where is the SUP portion of the race?
The .5 mile paddle portion of the race is an out and back route on the inlet portion of Georgetown Lake. 
There will be safety kayakers on the lake to guide participants in the correct direction. They can also provide safety assistance if needed.

Where is the bike portion of the race?
The 5 mile bike portion of the race is a loop through historic Georgetown, and  around Georgetown Lake, that consists of paved, dirt, and gravel roads. Road bikes tend to do just fine on the course!

Where is the run/walk portion of the race?
The 5k (3.1 miles) run/walk portion of the race takes you on a paved trail around Georgetown Lake 2 times. The 

What should I do with my SUP when I exit the water?
Feel free to leave your SUP close to the water's edge (please be mindful of other participants), and one of our event staff  will bring it back to the  transition area. 

Will you have a water station out on the course?
We will have ONE water station set up on the road between Cabin Creek and the Lake. Please note, we will have some cups available, however, please, please, please bring your own water vessels, as it is our goal to reduce waste as much as possible at all events. 

Where are the bathrooms?
Bathrooms will be located inside Cabin Creek, as well as there are public restrooms located next to Georgetown Lake. 

What should I do after the race?
You should check out the Georgetown 4th of July parade and festivities, all of which are located a short walk from Cabin Creek!
