So it's going to be a slow start to normal in 2021, so we all need a good mileage challenge! This mileage challenge will last the entire year. Here are a couple of guidelines:
1. There will be three categories to choose from: Run/Walk Only, Bike Only, and Combination of Run/Walk and Bike
2. Only exercise miles count (aka your steps around the house or office do not count towards your mileage, but taking the dog for a walk would). Indoor treadmill and stationary bike miles DO COUNT for all of my fellow non-winter warriors!
3. Submit mileage only ONCE a day - if there are double entries for a day the extra will be deleted.
There will be landmarks to hit throughout the challenge. You will start at Stonehenge in England, and travel to Paris (Mile 282), Berlin (Mile 565), The Alps in Liechtenstein (Mile 892), The Colosseum (Mile 1,429), Geneva (Mile 1,999), Sancerre - for some great wine (Mile 2,215), Normandy (Mile 2,446), and finally to Big Ben in London (Mile 2,651).
The cost to join and participate in the challenge will be a minimum $10 donation to a future Boston Marathon charity (most likely Hole in the Wall Gang in Ashford, CT). No swag for this event - just bragging rights a solid goal to work towards, and printable awards when you hit each landmark!
