Description
The Race: We are saying THANK YOU to our Essential Workers, but with our FEET! So suit up, keep six feet away, and get racing! Since it’s a virtual race you will be able to avoid the crowds, but still participate in an event with other people from your town and around the world!
The Cause: Your registration will go to local Hospitals in the Northeast who have established COVID-19 funds designated to help the Essential Workers impacted by the pandemic. The Essential Race is supporting our Essential Workers who have gone through high levels of stress and trauma. From the Nurses who helped their patients say goodbyes to their families over zoom, to the Doctors who pushed themselves to the brink of exhaustion working non-stop, Covid has taken a toll on people emotionally as well as physically. All proceeds will help restore the mental health and well being of our Essential Workers.This includes CNAs, Nurses, Doctors, and Case Managers alike. All have gone above and beyond to keep us and our loved ones safe.
The Recipients: In the Greater New York area: Westchester Hospital. In Connecticut: Norwalk Hospital, Danbury, and New Milford Hospital. In Massachusetts: Greater Boston Doctors (GBD) on the Front Lines
