COURSE INSTRUCTIONS — PLEASE READ ❄️
Occasionally, other races take place in Long Beach on the same day as ours.
The City of Long Beach allows up to three permitted events at once, so you may see other groups using their own flags, chalk markings, cones, or signage along the beach path.
✨ Your job: Follow only CaliFlow Runs course markings.
✨ Our job: Make your turns extremely clear so you never feel lost.
HOW TO KNOW YOU’RE ON THE CALIFLOW COURSE
Our signage and flags are very specific — and you will ALWAYS know when you reach your turn.
✔️ OUR TURN MARKINGS INCLUDE:
-
Bright pink flags and Yellow Flags
-
A large turn sign
-
Clear directional arrows
-
Staff stationed at major turns (Half Marathon) or whenever possible
If you see our flags or logo— you’re in the right place.
You may be running Winter Runderland but the company that puts on your event is CaliFlow Runs, and our logo is the mark to trust.
WHAT NOT TO FOLLOW
Because other events may be on the path, you may also see:
-
Red flags
-
Purple flags
-
White flags
-
Polka-dot flags
-
Random Chalk Markings on the path
-
Signage for other brands or race companies
These are NOT your turns.
If it doesn’t say CaliFlow Runs or look like the photos do not turn.
YOUR TURNS WILL LOOK LIKE THE PHOTOS ABOVE
This is the start finish line. It says Start on one side and finish on the opposite side.
Loop Instructions for 10K & Half Marathon Runners
10K runners will complete 2 loops.
Half Marathon runners will complete 3 loops.
When you return toward the start/finish area to begin your next loop, please follow these important instructions:
✔️ Your loop turn is located near the CaliFlow Runs tent.
There will be a 24x36 TURN sign clearly displayed.
✔️ You MUST run past the white timing box pictured.
Passing this box ensures your chip time is recorded correctly before heading back out for your next loop.
After your final loop:
➡️ Turn LEFT into the finish chute
➡️ Run through the giant inflatable arch
➡️ Cross the timing mats to record your official finish time
Our staff and signage will help guide you, but please keep an eye out for the CaliFlow Runs tent, the TURN sign, and the white timing box for accurate timing.
