Is this a virtual race?

Yes! This is a virtual race. Participants can run, walk or swim from any location, including your treadmill!

 

Does this race benefit any organization?

Yes! 100% of the proceeds from this race go directly to the American Cancer Society.

 

Who are RavensRunNC and Ravens Soaring Across NC?

RavensRunNC and Ravens Soaring Across NC are two teams of eight students each from Ravenscroft School in Raleigh, NC. These sixteen high school students joined together in 2020 to found the virtual race Carolina Crushes Cancer to directly support the American Cancer Society.

 

Can anyone participate? How do I join or start a team?

Yes, anyone can participate. You may participate as an individual, join an existing team, or create your own team. You can distinguish this through the registration process.

 

What is the cost to participate? Is there an event t-shirt?

Basic registration is $25 and includes an online portal to track miles, a virtual personalized running bib and a finisher certificate. Registration at the $50 level also includes a gender specific, tech, custom event t-shirt, which will be mailed in December 2020 following completion of the race.

 

How many miles do I have to run, walk or swim?

You and your team may run, walk or swim as many or as few miles as you'd like. Together, we'll see how many times we can cross the state of North Carolina (600 miles).

 

Does everyone on my team have to log miles in the same way?

No. Each participant, and anyone on any team, can run, walk or swim any of their miles.

 

Can I help ACS through additional fundraising?

Yes! Any race participant or participating team can fundraise to help ACS.  Participants who raise $300 will receive an ACS singlet. In order to be eligible for this incentive, funds must be raised from the time you register through December 1, 2020 at 11:59pm.

 

When can I start logging miles? When is the race over?

Miles can be logged starting on Saturday, October 31, 2020. The last day to log miles is Tuesday, December 1, 2020.
