Our Purpose

The ChristmasTown 5K is a project of the McAdenville Woman's Club. The committee is made up entirely of volunteers from our area. All money raised stays in our community and is used to support a variety of projects and needs. Here are some of the recent needs money from this event has been able to support. 

  • Funding for CaroMont Health initiative to replace mobile mammogram unit
  • Paid the electric bill for a family in our community with three children who were in desparate need
  • "Feed the Children" donation to provide children food over school break
  • Sponsored two families through Mission Hospital in Asheville to provide Christmas for Helene victims
  • Support for The Lighthouse Children's Advocacy Center
  • Support for Catherine's House, a local shelter for women and children
  • Supported the Stuart Cramer High School Battle of the Books team's entry into the state finals of the competition
  • New uniform pieces for Stuart Cramer High School Marching Band
  • Hygiene and dental supplies for McAdenville Elementary School
  • Sponsorship of YMCA sports teams 
  • Financial support for a local family dealing with an unexpected illness
  • Christmas presents for underprivileged and foster children in our area
  • Cornhole and indoor bowling set to a local nursing home
  • Funding for the Gaston County Educational Foundation 
  • Support of a local family living in a local motel due to financial hardships
  • Building of 2 canoe launches in McAdenville
  • Scholarships for deserving college students in our area
  • Support of the Catawba Riverkeeper Non-Profit Organization
  • Donation of new books for every single classroom at McAdenville Elementary
