Claiborne Farm Runhappy 5K and 2.5K Run/Walk (Draft)

Race Venue

1. Where will be the race be held?  At Claiborne Farm at 703 Winchester Road, Paris, KY 40361.
2. What time does the race start?  The 5K Run/Walk will start at 6:00 pm. The 2.5K Fun Walk will start immediately following the 5K.
3. What time should I arrive?  Please arrive no earlier than one hour before the race start time. The gates will not open until 5:00 PM.
4. Where will I park?  Parking will be available on the farm property near the start of the race.  There will be directional signage and volunteers to direct you once you are on the farm. You may enter through the main gate after 5:00 pm. Parking is limited, so please carpool. Please note that parking will be in a grass field.
5. Are there any restrictions at the race venue? Yes!  Smoking is not permitted on Claiborne Farm. Children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on Claiborne Farm property.  Also, dogs are NOT permitted on Claiborne Farm property.

Race Registration

1. When does online registration close?  Online registration will be available until the race sells out or until race weekend.
2. Can I register on race day?  No. This race is a for pre-registered participants only.
3. What do I get for my registration fee? Your registration fee includes your race number including chipped race timing and a race t-shirt.
4. Is there a benefiting charity?  Yes! The benefiting 501(c)(3) this year is Second Stride.  
5. Can I get a refund of my registration fee? Sorry. Registration fees are non-refundable.
6. I can't make it anymore. Can I transfer my registration to a friend? No, race registrations are non-transferable. 
7. What if there is severe weather? If the forecast shows potential severe weather, you will receive a notice by 6 PM on Thursday, September 19th. A final decision will be made by noon on Friday, September 20th, and you will be alerted via e-mail regarding the status of the race. If the race is postponed on race day due to weather, the latest possible start time will be 6:45 PM. If there are hazardous conditions after this point in time, we reserve the right to cancel the race without refunds.
8. Should I register my young children? Small children that can't run or walk the 5K or 2.5K independently need not be registered. Only registered participants will receive a race number and race t-shirt.

Race Participation

1. When can I get my race t-shirt and race number?  You can pick up your race number and t-shirt at the Claiborne Farm Visitor Center located at 703 Winchester Road, Paris, KY 40361 on Thursday, September 19th between 9 AM and 4 PM. You can also pick it up on race day at Claiborne Farm starting at 5:00 PM. We're sorry, but we are unable to mail any t-shirts or packets prior or following the race that were not picked up.
2. Can I view a course map?  Yes. Click here to view the 5K course map. Click here to view the 2.5K course map.
3. Is the course totally on hard surfaces?  Yes! The course is on the paved roads on the farm property.
4. Is the course suitable for strollers?  Yes. Pushing a stroller on this course is possible. Please start in the back of the race pack.
5. Can I walk the race?  Yes! Walkers are welcome.
6. Can I bike the race? For the safety of all participants, bicycles, roller shoes, or scooters are not allowed on the race courses.
7. Can I bring my dog?  No. Dogs are not permitted on Claiborne Farm property; this will be strictly enforced. Please do not bring your dog and leave it in your car.
8. Are there other restrictions? Yes. Smoking is not permitted on Claiborne Farm. Children 12 & under must be accompanied by an adult at all times while on the property.  

Race Timing/Awards/Results

1. Will the race be timed?  Yes, the race will be "chip" timed.
2. Will awards be presented after the race?  Yes, there will be awards following the race.
3. What are the age divisions? There is an award for overall male and overall female. There are also awards for the top male and top female in the following age divisions: 12 & under, 13-17, 18-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, and 70 & over.
