As part of Finger Lakes Health, the Jim Dooley Center for Early Learning provides high quality child care and early childhood education services. We are committed to fostering all aspects of healthy development in young children by maintaining highest standards in child care and early childhood education programming.
The Jim Dooley Center for Early Learning is located on the main campus of Geneva General Hospital and offers convenient hours, 6 AM to 6 PM, Monday – Friday. For more information call (315) 787-4190 All classrooms are spacious, well equipped and specifically designed to meet the developmental needs of each age group. There are also playgrounds built for each age group, along with flower and vegetables gardens.
Infant Care (6 weeks – 18 months)
At the Jim Dooley Center for Early Learning the staff is dedicated to providing high quality care for infants in a setting that is safe, nurturing and emotionally supportive.
Our teachers are experienced with infant development. The care is individualized, and interaction with infants is always gentle, nurturing, accepting and enthusiastic. Emphasis is placed on health, nutrition and cleanliness standards.
Toddler Care (18 – 36 months)
We are committed to providing high quality care for toddlers in a surrounding that is safe, nurturing and emotionally supportive, offering stimulating atmosphere within a stable and familiar framework.
The teachers are knowledgeable about toddler development and respect the toddler’s need to explore and appreciate the importance of providing support as toddlers acquire skills and gain autonomy. Emphasis is placed on language development, emerging motor skills, health and nutrition.
Preschool Program (3 – 5 years)
Our preschool program provides children with a positive environment for learning and social interaction that is nurturing and filled with opportunities to gain knowledge about the world at their own pace. Mixed age groupings, 3 – 5 years, grants each child access to more well-rounded companions and it permits each child to serve as an expert resource for others.
Experienced and degreed teachers prepare children for successful transition to school, emphasizing on literacy, math, science, creative expression, nutrition and wellness.
Before and After School Care (5 – 11 years)
Available before and after school, on days off from school and during the summer. This program is designed to provide an environment where older children can socialize, practice new skills and grow independent – to have freedom within limits. There are numerous opportunities to work creatively with various materials and to strengthen physical skills on the playground or on recreational outings. Children are provided a secure and structured program where they can choose activities that interest them. Busing is available.

Standards
The Jim Dooley Center for Early Learning is licensed by the NYS Department of Social Services and is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC) for exceeding standards in education, health and safety. NAEYC is the nation’s largest organization of early childhood educators.
