Do you miss running races?

The Fast & Furious 5K is your chance to see if you can virtually kick actual ass!

Where: There are several recommended courses in DE & PA for completing this event.  You will be emailed the options once registered.   

When: Friday - Sunday, April 24 - 26 

How: Show up to a course that suits you anytime it's convenient for you from Friday - Sunday (no more 6AM Saturday alarm clocks for an 8AM 5K!).  Record your time and distance, 3.43 miles to be exact.

Your total distance on either course should be 3.43-miles.

Upload your results to this event's private Facebook group (you can join after registering) or email them.  You can also join our Strava Club and upload your results to Strava from another device (Get STRAVA)!  We'll score the event from there! 

• Go to the course of your choice, keeping in mind different state's Covid orders.

• Run 3.43-miles

• Upload results

• Celebrate from a socially-distanced quarantined location!    

Why 3.43 miles?: Originally this event was set-up for everyone to run the same course (Bellevue track) but because of the current restrictions in DE, different courses were added to accomodate all runners.  That original course was 3-complete loops of the 1-1/8 mile track at Bellevue, which equates to 3.43 miles. 

The short answer is, I'm lazy and didn't want to redraw the map, it's easier to have you run 3.43 miles! 

Why do this at all? 

• You want to race
• You want to see if you are faster in your age group than a Pennsylvanian
• You want to see if you are faster in your age group than a Delawarean
• You want to help support the hard hit local mushroom farmers in the Mushroom Capital of the World
• You want to find out how fast you can run 3.43 miles

What: Only registered runners will gain access to the private Facebook group and suggested course maps. You can do all the social-distance trash talk you want with your actual virtual competitors! Once results start coming in we'll start updating the score-sheet and post/email the results at 8PM each day.  You'll be able to see where you are in the scoring throughout the weekend or see what you need to do to place. You can even run the course again or a different course!  That's right, if you think you can beat your first time or someone edged you out of placing, go run faster!  Your fastest time will be scored.  Final results will be posted/emailed Monday April 27th. 

Awards: Overall M/F; top 3 M/F 19-under; 20-29; 30-39; 40-49; 50-59; 60-69; 70+.  Awards will be boxes of beautiful mushrooms to support our local mushroom farmers in Kennett Square, the Mushroom Capital of the World! Awards will need to picked up  at Somerset Lake, Landenberg, PA .  A curbside pick-up will be established.  A guaranteed date will be provided the week of the event for when this award pick-up will occur
