Swim Conduct

Swim waves: Determined by gender and age, athletes must start in their assigned wave. Non-binary will begin in the first wave that encompasses their age group.

When the event is commenced by starting designated "waves" or groups of participants at different times, all participants shall start in and with the proper wave or group. Any participant who violates this section by starting in an improper and earlier wave or group shall be disqualified. Any participant who starts in an open or elite wave in an event with age group waves shall be ineligible for age group awards."

Swim cap: When issued swim caps must be worn during the swim portion of the event. Athletes allergic to the issued caps may wear their own cap under the race provided cap.

Wet Suit: It is highly unlikely water temperatures will be lower than 78 degrees race day.  Participants wearing a wet suit are not award eligible.
When the water temperature is greater than 78 degrees, but less than 84 degrees Fahrenheit, age group participants may wear a wet suit at their own discretion, provided however that participants who wear a wet suit within this temperature range shall not be eligible for prizes or awards. Age group participants shall not wear wet suits in water temperatures equal to or greater than 84 degrees Fahrenheit."
