Our Mission: We are dedicated to improving the quality of life of persons affected by dementia through support services, education and advocacy.
Dementia Bermuda (formerly Action on Alzheimer’s & Dementia) is a registered charity (#929) founded in 2012 by Elizabeth Stewart, whose mother lived with Alzheimer’s disease from 2004–2012. At the time, there was very little community information or support available for families after a dementia diagnosis. Elizabeth’s goal was simple: no one in Bermuda should have to face dementia alone.
Over the years, we’ve grown from a grassroots initiative to the island’s leading nonprofit provider of dementia support. Our free, community-based services—including the Daily Activities Programme, caregiver support and public education—have helped hundreds of individuals and families navigate this complex condition.
