Help Us Bring a Real Running Track to Ocala
(Yes… a real rubber track. Believe it or not, we still don’t have one.)
Right now, the only rubber running track in Marion County is at a private high school—which means the public can’t use it. No early-morning workouts, no after-school strides, no weekend intervals. Not exactly ideal for a community as active as ours.
We’d like to change that.
Your donation helps fuel the long-term push to install a public rubber track right here in Ocala—something accessible, practical, and long overdue.
What We’re Doing
We’ve already taken this idea all the way to the Marion County Tourism Board. After hearing the case, they agreed to fund a formal study and gap analysis to dig into the need for a public track and where it could live.
We’ve also been in contact with multiple school board members about the possibility of installing a rubber track at the stadium—with the vision that it would be open to the public when school isn’t in session.
Why This Can Work
Look no further than FAST.
That world-class swimming facility started as a simple idea from a group of parents on the Marlins swim team. They pushed. They fundraised. They rallied the community. By the time they had millions raised, a private company stepped in and built one of the nicest aquatic centers in the country.
Today, FAST gives access to swimmers, families, kids, seniors, and every corner of the community—not just a select few. It became a premier facility because a group of people believed in it and kept pushing until others believed too.
What We Need
Support. Momentum. And a community that says, “Yes, this matters.”
Your donation helps keep the advocacy alive, strengthens our position with decision-makers, and shows that Ocala wants—and deserves—a public rubber running track.
Honest Disclaimer
We can’t guarantee it’ll be built. We wish we could. But right now, we’re the only group actively pushing for it, and your support directly fuels that effort.
If you’d like to help Ocala finally get the track our runners, walkers, and future athletes deserve, consider donating today. Every bit of support moves the idea from “maybe someday” to “let’s make it happen.”
