At the YMCA, we believe that every child, family, adult and senior should have the opportunity to participate in programs that will make a healthy difference in their lives. That’s why we raise money each year to provide scholarships to ensure that YMCA memberships and programs are accessible to everyone – especially our youth who need it the most.
Last year, the YMCA raised $420,000 during our annual Scholarship Campaign. However, the need was greater than the dollars raised, so we awarded $457,000 in financial assistance. Each year, the need continues to grow in our Marion County community, which is why we strive to spread awareness. Because of the generosity of our donors, volunteers and member, we are able to impact the lives of 5,000 additional people on a daily basis.
The Turkey Trot is our biggest fundraising effort each year, and 100 percent of proceeds from each Thanksgiving event benefit the annual Scholarship Campaign.
We believe we are the only organization who can move the needle on some of our community's most pressing issues, like chronic disease prevention and youth development. We look forward to partnering with you, and we thank you for your support because with you, we can do so much more.
