MISSION: No Longer Fatherless exists to recruit, train, and match mentors with young men (6-19YO) growing up without a father figure in Volusia & Flagler County.
WHY: Growing up fatherless can significantly raise the likelihood of outcomes such as prison, teen pregnancy, high school dropouts, youth suicide, drug use, and other negative behaviors. The United States also has the highest single parent household rate in the entire world. The need is great. We currently have 30+ boys on our waiting list, ready for a mentor.
PROGRAMS: 1 to 1 weekly mentoring - Group Events - Life Skill Classes
IMPACT: We currently have 70 mentors matched with 70 boys throughout Volusia & Flagler
FUNDING: We started this program right here in Volusia County and only exist today thanks to those who believed in our mission from the beginning and continue to support us. Some of the biggest expenses of our program include our Group Events, Life Skill Classes, Mentor Training Classes, Mentee College Scholarships, Liability Insurance, Trauma Informed Training, and Administration costs.
GOALS: We are growing faster than ever as an organization which means we are impacting more lives than ever. We have already trained more mentors (25) in 2024 (As of July 2024) than we did in all of 2023 (24 mentors). Each year we continue to expand our programs, improve, and make more of an impact. By July of 2025, we hope to reach 100 mentors matched with 100 young men. We host 15 - 20 events per year for our mentors and boys. Some of these are fun group events such as cookouts, playing sports, attending football games, while others are life skill classes such as cooking, handyman skills, job interview skills, and more. We will also soon be incorporating college scholarships as a part of our program, which should be in place before the end of 2024.
