Donation

Donate to the Trail

The proceeds from the Tom Short 5K Race go to benefit the General Dacey Trail in Shelbyville, IL.

The General Dacey Trail is made possible by the generous support of federal, state, and local funds for the development of multi-use recreational trails. Beyond these major gifts, countless volunteers have spent their Saturday mornings clearing brush, planting trees, and helping with on-going maintenance of the trail; and still others have given generous gifts for memorial benches, trees, signage, and other trail related equipment like bike racks and the Dacey Gator.

The local staff of the Corps of Engineers and the City of Shelbyville Park Crew are vital partners of the Dacey Trail Project, as are the staff at the Illinois Department of Natural Resources.

General Donations for the on-going development and maintenance of the trail are accepted, please contact Jerry at 217 774-4001 if you wish to make a donation.
