In recognition of Juneteenth, a health movement will be born. Saturday, June 18th marks the inaugural Juneteenth Lawnside 5k walk/run, 1 mile walk. As a member of the Juneteenth Lawnside 5k Health and Wellness committee of the Borough of Lawnside, New Jersey, we are seeking support from local vendors.
This day will consist of a 5k walk/run as well as a 1 mile walk. Our goal is to raise $15,000 with the help of our valuable partners to increase the health outcomes of our community and raise awareness of health disparities in the black community as well as to improve our public park.
By participating in the race or with your donation, you’re doing far more than helping a team — you’re investing in the growth, health, and future of our students. Participation in school sports offers a wide range of benefits for young people:
Physical and mental health: Regular exercise promotes overall wellness, while the structure of team sports supports discipline and stress management.
Character development: Teamwork, leadership, and perseverance are just a few of the life skills cultivated on the court.
Academic success: Studies show student-athletes often perform better in school due to the responsibility and time management skills they develop.
Safe, positive engagement: Athletic programs offer a safe and constructive environment for students after school hours.
With your help, we can continue to offer these opportunities to every student who wants to participate.

We are also seeking financial contributions and sponsors for the following: water bottles; t-shirts; registration materials and awards.
