Noah Farrelly Memorial Fund

Noah was born on June 6, 2000, and raised on the south side of Binghamton. He was known from early childhood for his kindness and had a gift for making friends wherever he went. Once he found his life's passion, competitive running, he was known as a model of good sportsmanship by teammates, competitors, and coaches alike.

On December 4, 2018, as a freshman at Stony Brook University, Noah was struck and killed by a vehicle during a training run for the university’s cross country and track team. As the news of the tragedy spread, nothing could have prepared us for the extraordinary human and financial outreach we received from every community Noah had touched. Our family’s pride in the mark Noah left on so many people is only surpassed by the gratitude we feel for their support in our time of suffering. It is in that spirit that we created the Noah Farrelly Memorial Fund to pay that generosity forward through charitable projects reflective of Noah’s journey through his life and passing.

Our foundation's projects include:

- The Noah Farrelly Memorial Scholarships, recognizing male and female STAC cross country athletes who personify the spirit of fairness, courtesy, and goodwill in sports.

- The Noah Farrelly Kindness Counts Scholarship, rewarding Binghamton High School students demonstrating exemplary personal character through everyday acts.

- Farrelly's Feet provides running/athletic shoes to Binghamton City School District students in need. In the spring of 2023, we celebrated the donation of our 1000th pair of sneakers! We are proud to announce the expansion of our program to include West Middle School, in addition to the seven elementary schools previously served.

- Our program to teach road safety to student runners and provide them with wearable identification. We are proud to have expanded to serve all NYSPHSAA Section IV distance runners for the 2023-24 school year.

We can think of no better way to raise funds for our foundation’s efforts than through an event celebrating what Noah loved most: running, friendly competition, and bringing people together for a good time. Thanks to our participants and the support of our generous donor community, The Noah Farrelly Run has grown to be a local institution, funding programs improving the lives of youth in the community Noah loved.

Offline donations made payable to the Noah Memorial Fund may be mailed to Noah Farrelly Memorial Fund, 6 Brookside Rd, Binghamton, NY, 13903.
