We are an all volunteer and fostered based rescue located in the greater Buffalo, NY area. We pride ourselves on being an all-breed dog rescue. We are a 50l(c)(3) organization and 100% of the money we raise goes towards the rescue and rehabilitation of the dogs in our care. We are 100% volunteer based.
Since the rescue started its operations in November of 2018, we have rescued over 1,800 dogs across nine states: Kentucky, West Virginia, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Texas, Ohio, Tennessee and New York . We have no intention of slowing down. Our volunteers work tirelessly to save these dogs from the terrible fate of euthanasia due to overcrowding at shelters across the nation.
Nickel City Canine Rescue does not receive any funding from the county, city, state, or federal governments. Our rescue does not receive tax dollars of any kind . . . we’re only able to assist the people and pets in need thanks to donations from the community
At Nickel City Canine Rescue, the heart of our work is to rescue displaced and unwanted animals at risk of euthanasia. We commit to providing them with stable care, basic needs, and the kind of love that makes their tails wag again. Our mission is also to reduce the unwanted pet population by spaying and neutering every dog that comes through our rescue.
We rescue both healthy and medically needy dogs from puppies to seniors. Here at NCCR, we regularly open our homes to pregnant dogs in need of a safe space to deliver their puppies. We've also taken on medical cases from broken bones, amputation, eye surgeries, masses, skin conditions, and beyond.
Our dogs come from multiple shelters in southern states as well as local owner surrenders and local shelters. Our goal is to match dogs in need to loving, safe, forever homes.
